TESTIMONIALS
Richard / Stratford-upon-Avon:
Assertiveness
“Since my childhood I have suffered from indecision and a lack of self-assertiveness. Now in middle age following one session of hypnotherapy with Elizabeth I am noticeably more confident and self-assured in my dealings with other people, to such an extent that people have commented on the change. I am delighted with the result.”
Melanie / Birmingham:
Cat allergy
“I love cats and was very close to our family cat when I was a teenager, but sadly in my twenties I developed an allergy to them. Ever since, if I stroked a cat and didn’t wash my hands then my hands and wrists would start itching, and even just the presence of a cat in a house could set me sneezing. I was really pleased that after just one session with Elizabeth I could tell a real difference. I found I could stroke a friend’s cat without any reaction on my hands, and even when I could see the cat hairs flying around, I didn’t sneeze. One day I’d love to own a cat again, and now that seems a real possibility for the future.”
John / Bidford-on-Avon, Warks:
Conifer tree allergy
“ For many years, when trimming conifer trees in the garden I have had to cover myself completely and not expose my bare skin, as contact with them has resulted in a severe allergic reaction. This brought out a painful rash all over my body cured only by a course of antihistamine treatment. However, following a single session with Elizabeth of NLP and Hypnotherapy, I am now able to work with conifers with no allergic reaction and without requiring layers of protective clothing, which in the summer weather particularly is a boon. I would not have believed that a single session would have had such a beneficial effect.”
Charlie / Cleeve Prior, Warks:
Spider phobia
“I went into the therapy session quite unconvinced, but the effects were instantaneous and amazing. The day of the therapy, my phobia of spiders was completely lifted, no exaggeration. Now I can pick them up, rather than just stare obsessively from a distance worrying about what I should do if a spider came towards me! Thank you!”
Amanda / Stratford-upon-Avon:
Performance nerves
“My singing in front of audiences can be adversely affected by pre-performance nerves, which seem to stem from my first solo concerts when I suffered with acute stage fright. Before starting with hypnotherapy and by tailoring the session to my individual needs, Elizabeth felt that the root of the problem needed to be addressed first. We began the session with E.M.D.R., which brought my worst singing nightmares to the surface. By 'desensitising' these bad experiences, previous positive performances were brought to the forefront instead. The following hypnotherapy focused my mind on enjoying singing so that when I next performed, I was in control and totally relaxed.”
Jess / Evesham:
Anxiety and Depression
“Since I was about 14 I had suffered from severe depression and my self-confidence was rock bottom, things never seemed to get better and I constantly felt worthless. I am now 17 and have come on in leaps and bounds thanks to EMDR treatment.
Before I came for hypnotherapy and EMDR, I had been through nearly 3 years of counselling, seeing various different therapists and I only seemed to be going round in circles, making no progress whatsoever.
I was a bit dubious about starting EMDR as I didn't really feel that it would make a difference because I'd seen so many different people, and no progress had been made. However, I was quickly proved wrong; in just 5 treatments I was a different person.
My whole outlook on life changed completely and I was receiving comments from both close family and friends, saying that I seemed much happier with myself and those around me. Also, I noticed and appreciated the effects it had on me myself - which had never happened before!
The treatment has literally turned my life around and I could not be where I am today without EMDR treatment and hypnotherapy. I would strongly recommend this treatment to anyone and wish it were more readily available/practised more by the NHS, because it could have saved me years of upset. Thank you again for all your help.”
Liz / Evesham:
Post-menopausal anxiety
“I want to thank you for helping me to get my life back on track, I wish I had come to see you a lot sooner. I am still a little uptight but generally I am looking at things much more positively and I am much happier than I was. I find your CDs very good and I still listen to them most days. I am also getting off to sleep much better than I was before coming to see you.”
Susan / Bidford-on-Avon:
Anxiety in piano performance
“After my children had grown up and left home, I had retired from work and had a redundant piano which I wished I had learnt to play when I was younger, so it was a case of selling the piano or learning to play, but I did not have any self confidence in this respect, despite encouraging my children to play well. However I started to learn to play the piano with Elizabeth and she was most encouraging, patient and understanding of my difficulty that I really enjoyed it and looked forward to each lesson. Then of course the question of exams came up! I thought oh no, I could not possibly attempt anything like that. She then helped me to overcome the nervousness I had with a course of hypnotherapy and relaxation therapy. I am now preparing to take my Grade 3 piano exam!! which I would have thought impossible a short time ago, but she has been such a brilliant help; I certainly would not have achieved this without her.”
Sue / Stratford-upon-Avon:
Music performance anxiety
“As a busy amateur musician I have been experiencing huge performance anxiety for several years. It was getting so bad that on several occasions I ‘chickened out’ of playing completely and on others I was shaking uncontrollably and unable to give a good performance. I visited Elizabeth Brooker with some degree of scepticism a couple of months prior to an extremely demanding concert. After one session with Elizabeth, and listening to the audio recording that she gave to me, my whole attitude changed. I conquered my fear and gave, I am told, a very good confident performance for that concert. Since then I have felt a lot more relaxed and enjoy playing with a new found confidence. I would thoroughly recommend hypnotherapy and EMDR.”
